Terms of Service
Last updated: April 11, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Paz, a household management application built for families in the MENA region. We've tried to write these in a way that's clear and fair — not buried in legal jargon that nobody reads. That said, these are still binding terms, so please take a moment to understand what you're agreeing to.
By creating an account or using Paz, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree with any part of them, you're welcome to stop using the service at any time.
About the Service
Paz is a household management app designed to help families stay organized and coordinated. The app brings together a number of everyday household needs into one place — task management, grocery lists, maintenance scheduling, event planning, and communication with household staff. Our goal is to reduce the mental load of running a household by giving you and your family a shared space to manage everything.
Paz currently includes features like task assignment and tracking, shared grocery and shopping lists, household maintenance reminders and scheduling, a family calendar for events and appointments, WhatsApp-based communication with household staff through the app, a web portal for staff to receive and manage their tasks, and an AI assistant that can help with things like task suggestions and descriptions.
We're always working on new features and improvements, and the app will continue to evolve over time. Some features may be added, changed, or retired as we learn more about what works best for the families using Paz.
Beta Status
Paz is currently in beta, which means we're still in the process of building, testing, and refining the experience. We're proud of what we've built so far, but we want to be upfront: the app may contain bugs, incomplete features, or occasional hiccups. That's the nature of beta software, and we appreciate your patience as we work through it.
During the beta period, we may modify, add, or remove features without prior notice as we iterate based on user feedback and our own testing. We do our best to communicate significant changes, but the app is actively evolving and things may shift quickly. Your feedback during this period is incredibly valuable to us — it directly shapes what Paz becomes.
Who Can Use Paz
Paz is designed for adults who manage their households. To create an account and use the app, you must be at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you may use Paz with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to be responsible for your use of the service.
By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements. If we learn that someone under 18 is using Paz without parental consent, we may suspend or close that account.
Your Account
When you create a Paz account, you agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information. This includes your name, email address, and phone number. Keeping this information accurate helps us communicate with you about your household and provide support when you need it.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, including keeping your login credentials safe. If you suspect that someone has gained unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately at hello@getpaz.io so we can help secure it.
All activity that occurs under your account is your responsibility. This includes actions taken by family members or others you've granted access to your household within the app. We recommend only sharing access with people you trust.
Your Data and Content
We believe strongly that your data belongs to you. Everything you create within Paz — your tasks, grocery lists, maintenance schedules, event plans, household information, and any other content — remains your intellectual property. Paz does not claim any ownership rights over the content you put into the app.
We need a limited license to your content solely to operate the service. When you create a task or add an item to a list, we need to be able to store it, display it to the members of your household, send notifications about it, and process it through features like the AI assistant. But this license exists only to make the app work for you — we won't use your content for marketing, sell it, or repurpose it in any way that goes beyond providing the Paz service.
If you decide to leave Paz, you can request an export of your data or ask us to delete it entirely. Your content is yours to take with you. For more details on how we handle your information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Household Staff Features
One of Paz's core features is the ability to coordinate with household staff — sending tasks, schedules, and messages through WhatsApp integration and a dedicated web portal. This feature is designed to make communication clearer and more organized for everyone involved.
Your Responsibilities Regarding Staff
When you add a household staff member to Paz, you are responsible for obtaining their consent before adding them. This means letting them know that you'll be using Paz to send them tasks and messages, and explaining how the app works. Staff members should understand that they'll receive communications through WhatsApp and may be given access to a web portal to view and manage their tasks.
You are also responsible for the content of messages you send to staff through Paz. The app is a communication tool — it delivers what you ask it to deliver, so please ensure your communications are respectful and appropriate.
Paz's Role
To be clear about boundaries: Paz is a technology platform that facilitates communication and task management. Paz is not the employer of your household staff, and we are not responsible for the actions, performance, conduct, or employment terms of any staff member. The relationship between you and your household staff is yours to manage — Paz simply provides tools to help make that management easier.
We do not mediate disputes between household managers and staff members, and we are not liable for any issues that arise in the course of that relationship.
Acceptable Use
We've built Paz to be a helpful tool for families, and we ask that you use it that way. When using Paz, you agree not to:
Use the service for any unlawful purpose. Paz is a household management tool and should be used as such. Don't use it to facilitate anything that violates applicable laws or regulations.
Harass, threaten, or harm others. This includes household staff, family members, or anyone else you interact with through the app. Paz is designed to make household coordination easier and more respectful — not to enable harmful behavior.
Transmit harmful or malicious content. Don't use Paz to distribute malware, spam, or any content designed to damage or disrupt systems or other users' experience.
Attempt to access other users' data. Each household's data is private and protected. Don't try to access, modify, or interfere with data belonging to other households or users.
Reverse engineer or tamper with the app. Don't attempt to decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any part of the Paz application, and don't try to circumvent any security measures we've put in place.
Misrepresent your identity. Don't create accounts with false information or impersonate another person.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines. We'll always try to reach out and resolve issues before taking action, but in cases of serious or repeated violations, we may need to act quickly to protect other users.
Intellectual Property
The Paz application — including its design, user interface, features, branding, logo, icons, and any original content we've created — is the property of Paz and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Your use of Paz gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose: managing your household. This license doesn't grant you the right to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on any part of the Paz application.
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the app (and we hope you do — we love hearing from our users), we may use that feedback to improve Paz without any obligation to compensate you. Of course, your household data remains yours regardless.
Service Availability and Reliability
We work hard to keep Paz running smoothly, but we can't guarantee that the service will be available 100% of the time. There may be occasional downtime for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control.
We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs — particularly during the beta period. We do guarantee that we'll work diligently to fix issues as they arise and to improve the reliability of the service over time.
If we need to perform scheduled maintenance that might affect your experience, we'll do our best to notify you in advance and to schedule it during off-peak hours.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Paz and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or any other intangible losses.
In plain terms: we've built Paz with care and we stand behind our service, but we can't be held responsible for every possible thing that might go wrong. If a task reminder doesn't fire and you miss an appointment, or if a message to a staff member is delayed, we're sorry and we'll work to fix the underlying issue — but we can't be legally liable for the downstream consequences.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of Paz shall not exceed the amount you've paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or fifty Jordanian Dinars (50 JOD), whichever is greater.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Paz, its founders, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
This means that if your use of Paz causes a problem that results in a legal claim against us, you agree to take responsibility for that.
Termination
By You
You can stop using Paz at any time. If you'd like to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at hello@getpaz.io and we'll process your request within 30 days.
By Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Where possible, we'll reach out to you first to explain the issue and give you an opportunity to address it. However, in cases of serious violations — such as using the app for unlawful purposes or attempting to access other users' data — we may suspend access immediately.
If we terminate your account, we'll provide you with the opportunity to export your data before deletion, unless the circumstances require immediate removal (for example, if data is being used for illegal activity).
What Happens After Termination
When your account is terminated — whether by you or by us — we will delete your personal data and household information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Certain provisions of these Terms will survive termination, including the sections on Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law.
Third-Party Services
Paz integrates with several third-party services to deliver its features, including WhatsApp (for staff messaging), Anthropic's Claude (for AI features), OpenAI's Whisper (for voice-to-text), Supabase (for data storage), Expo (for notifications), and Apple (for app distribution). Your use of these integrations may be subject to those services' own terms and policies.
We've chosen our partners carefully and we work to ensure that your data is handled responsibly across all integrations. For more details on how each service is used and what data is shared, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as Paz evolves, as legal requirements change, or as we refine our policies. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email so you have the opportunity to review the updated Terms before they take effect.
Your continued use of Paz after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you disagree with any changes, you may stop using the service and request deletion of your account.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will always reflect when the most recent changes were made.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Paz shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amman, Jordan.
We hope it never comes to that — if you have a concern, please reach out to us first at hello@getpaz.io and we'll do our best to resolve it directly.
